Trattoria da Danilo

Square
The town of Cetona was about 5 minutes from the villa.  Such a cute town with a big open plaza.  Pristine and airy.

We had our last dinner in Tuscany at Trattoria da Danilo.  The restaurant was also airy with a modern feeling.  I hate to say the square and restaurant were so clean but that is the first word that comes to mind.  It seemed as if they had power washed the square to bring it into the 21st century.

Appetiz
Dinner was really nice.  We began with a mixture of the appetizers.  The warm chopped meat on crusty bread made me think Italian chopped liver.  The cheeses, the meats, the brushetta…alll perfect and delicious.  I could have been done after that course.

Duck pasta
Josh and I split the pasta for our second course.  One of the house specialties.  Duck sauce.  More meaty than saucy which I really liked.  Full of flavor.

Pork
For my main course, I had the special.  Roasted pork with porchini mushrooms.  Absolutely delicious.  The mushrooms were so full of flavor.  The portion size was perfect too.

Biscot
Dessert was a sharing course.  Biscotti, of course, for dipping in the Vin Santo.

Apple
Roasted apple cake.  A local favorite.

Ricotta
Ricotta pie which is exactly what it was.  Not a cheese cake but the filling of the pie was ricotta.  Not too sweet, very good.

The last was panne cotta with a mixed berry sauce.  All good and well done.  They could not have been nicer in the restaurant.

We walked around the square and went home to bed.  A wonderful last dinner in Tuscany.
