we actually were living in the ground floor of our building. long story but i created a pop-up apartment. worked quite well.

  8. panterosa,

GG, Years ago, I had a 4″ waste pipe break in my baby’s room, over the kitchen. Thanksgiving too – how funny. A second pipe burst a month later. It took 13 months to renovate, revising total first floor layout, flooring etc. I was the designer, and the full time mom, and was living with my daughter in my studio all that time, with the cats. Too small, and not snore proof for the husband to join – he lived in the reno.My marriage was under a lot of strain but it was the last straw. I didn’t even want to move back.So I hope you are happily ensconced back and forgetting the drama.

In 1998 we had a hail storm that was devastating. We ended up with 4 inches of water in our family room, broken windows all on one side of the house and a damaged roof. We attempted to live in our home for a couple of days after the storm but the second night the plaster on the cathedral ceilings in the living room came crashing down at 2 am…Of course we then moved out and since everyone in town suffered the storm in various degrees getting repair work done took months. We did attempt to move back in one time, after the living room ceilings were repaired but then that plaster came crashing down the night we moved in.When we finally were able to move in safely it was like a second honeymoon…..home, sweet, home….Wishes for “home, sweet, home” to you, Fred, and your family…..
