Happy Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving-turkey-clipart-11Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday of the year.  I love how everyone in the US celebrates it no matter where you come from.  Once you are living in the states, you celebrate Thanksgiving.  There is something unique about the planning and conversations among everyone.  What the meal will be, how many people are coming, what time should the dinner began, should we stick with our same stuffing or be different, how big a turkey should we get?

I'd be happy to cook, bake and serve 25+ people if not more.  It is a time to come together and celebrate life.  So Happy Thanksgiving to everyone.  Enjoy the day.

Same to you and yours.I make the pilgrimage to Jersey to spend it with my mom and brothers every year.I bring the wine. A eclectic mix this year of (all natural) obscure dry Reislings, a Frappato/Nero D’avola blend in amphora from Sicily and and ancient Rioja that will have everyone’s head nodding.Enjoy!

We do a “double dinner”. We buy/order the turkey and trimmings and then cook up something more “fun.” This year it’s a flank steak with an adobo corn and red pepper relish. Quinoa with basil lime dressing and mango is the grain and 4 veggies! The pies every year are from Julian Pie Company. This year we welcome the newly engaged to our table. We will have champagne to kick it all off. Best!

Happy Thanksgiving to you, Fred, and the rest of family. Cannot beat food, family, football and the start of the holiday season. (Need to block out all the shopping talk though ;-))

  5. panterosa,

It’s my favorite holiday too! And I always love people who love it as the best holiday of the year for the reasons you list and more.America was built on an idea, so this holiday reflects that – it’s an idea. Spend a day being grateful for what you have and expanding and extending yourself to others and be inclusive in that spirit.Enjoy the day, and whichever stuffing you chose!

Happy Thanksgiving! The whole family has flown in to our house this year. Turkeys are in the oven and the smoker, and pies are looking mouth-watering. Have a wonderful holiday.
