WeFestival 2016

Yesterday we decided that WeFestival 1-5 was part of our seed round and WeFestival 6 was our series A.  We incubated WeFestivals at NYU for the past 5 years and learned a lot.  We learned that we had tapped into women entrepreneurs who were looking for a place to connect, be heard, meet other women in the trenches, make friends, mentors and be validated that they were on the right path.  Yesterday’s event accomplished all of that.

It was absolutely thrilling to watch the conversations take place, women moving from conversation to conversation, panel to panel where they would listen and talk shop.  Every woman in the room provided content.  Every woman in the room was motivated to be there.  Every woman in the room was building something.  It was just awesome.

I am excited about what the next year ahead will look like with WeFestival as we grow and at the same time watch the women grow who are part of our community.  The next women’s liberation movement is being built through our businesses.  Change is afoot.  I saw it yesterday, I can feel it in the air and I am honored to be part of it.
