Dream, Girl Film and their post-election response

imgres-1OUR MISSION

There are moments in history when we are called to act. This election outcome is our greatest and most critical call to action. We are reeling in the face of the shock of living through the greatest affront to progress in this country’s history.

At Dream, Girl we dedicate ourselves day and night to progressing the lives of women and girls around the world.  Today, we want to give our supporters a gift from our heart to yours.

For one week starting today, November 9th, we are streaming Dream, Girl online for free until Monday, November 14th. This film amplifies the stories of women like you and me.

Women who are in their mere existence, revolutionary.

We hope this film gives you a needed pause, and a community to find solace with. We hope this film brings you light in this dark time. We are committed to this work for the next four years and beyond, to continue building this revolution by any means necessary.

We will collectively work to have more women in office, developing policy, in STEM fields, across academia, boardrooms, in film and television on and off screen, and at the helm of companies around the world.

It’s time to continue the work. To rise. And to support one another as we move forward ever so intentionally.

A revolution is coming and one that I will be a part of. I’m all in. What gives me some comfort is that everyone is talking about action. No one is moving to Canada or New Zealand. This is just the beginning. Sometimes it takes a tragedy to motivate us into action. The racists, bigots and misogynists existed under Obama, only in the shadows. Now they are out and easy to spot. I am terrified of what the next few years look like in the US but hopeful for the long term. It’s time to start thinking of radical solutions for a radical problem. This girl is on fire.

It’s better that human flaws are out in the open and not hiding away in the dark shadows. We are all imperfect in some way or other. The way forward is not revolution. We know where that road goes.Trump is now the CEO. His flaws are many, but if he does his job well then the US can get out of the malaise it’s been in for quite some time. The mass media’s lens is not the one through which to view the landscape. It’s probably the last one. It’s grimy, cracked, distorting, and will hopefully soon shatter.

I think it’s time you and or your husband seriously think about running for public office. You are success stores in every sense of the word – financially, philosopically, familial, etcWe need new blood representing us.
