Chefs unite to help Puerto Rico

This weekend I was reading more articles about Puerto Rico.  It is devastating.  Electricity, water, food and all the basic needs we have come to just accept as part of our daily life have become rare commodities.  I can not understand why our Government has just ignored the looming disaster.  It will only get worse.

Many chefs have really gotten behind this cause, thank god.  The founder of Num Pang Kitchen, Ben Daitz, and Mario Batali and Action Bronson, have collaborated to create a special Num Pang Sandwich and rice bowl.  100% percent of the profits go to the Food Bank of Puerto Rico.

This is part of “chefs give back” that runs November 3 – 17th.  So get out there and eat some Num Pang and make a difference for Puerto Rico.

All the restaurants on in TriBeCa literally opened their doors to feed the responders after 9/11.People who truly have their hearts in hospitality love the people they are serving. And yes–PR is on the long list of people, places and ideals that are getting stomped on.

So glad to see an industry doing something like this.
