Airport lines

There is nothing quite like driving up in the Avis bus and seeing throngs of people waiting in line.  Your heart starts to pound and the panic starts to set in.  Am I going to make my plane?

Yesterday was hell at LAX.  Is it that the airlines are too cheap to install better security systems?  I don’t know the answer but we were there an hour in advance and it wasn’t really enough.

The lines at one airline were literally over an hour and a half just to check in,  not including the security line you have to go into afterwards.

It took us about 20 minutes to check in.  The security line was about an hour long.  We panicked.  Luckily, the security people would come through about 20 minutes before a plane was schedule to take off, check your boarding pass to make sure you really had to get through and help you make the plane.  It was ridiculous and frustrating.

I’d like to see George Bush and Rummy go through security check-in and see what they have to say about what it is like to travel in the United States these days.  I, for one, do not think it is acceptable.  It is stressful and unpleasant.  Going on vacation and traveling should be a good experience not a bad one.  How do we solve it?  I don’t know the answer but guaranteed the President born with the golden spoon in his mouth is clueless on what our airports are looking like today.
