San Diego
We took a road trip to San Diego. En route, we stopped at the Shake Shack which is right outside Laguna Beach en route to Newport Beach. It brought back memories for me. I lived for 6 months in Los Angeles while doing an internship my first semester senior year of college. My grandmother lived in Laguna, so I spent a fair amount of time in Laguna visiting. It is absolutely beautiful there.
In San Diego, we stayed at the Hotel Del Coronado which is 5 minutes from downtown San Diego. It is located on the island of Coronado. The hotel is a step back in time. If you close your eyes, you can imagine how hopping this place must have been when it first opened. The place was packed.
Our first trip was of course to Sea World. I have done my share of amusement parks and after spending time on a safari, it is pretty tough seeing animals out of their natural environments. We did a few rides which were ok and wet but nothing out of this world. The place is basically an extension of Anheuser Busch. Drink a bud and check out the park.
The best part is really just hanging out with my brother and his family. Here is my brother and Jessica.
Although the price is not included, we all love the games. The water shooting game is a popular one. We made sure everyone won. All the kids got a stuff whale and named it Shamu. No surprises there.
