Sangria
I promise to do a better job taking pictures.
Sangria is the ultimate summer drink. We bought a case of white wine which didn’t turn out to be such a good purchase. Funny aftertaste. When life gives you lemons, made lemonade. When you buy bad wine, make Sangria.
Here is a quick easy recipe that you can’t beat. Also, you can play around with it for your tastes.
2 bottles of white wine (we used a chardonnay but a sauvignon blanc is just fine)
1 cup of triple sec or cointreau (in Spain they use brandy too but that hits you hard)
1 cup of orange juice
1 – 2 cans of orangina (any orange soda would do but preferably orangina)
3 peaches cut up
2 plums cut up
2 lemons cut up
Serve over ice.
The key to this is the Orangina. Otherwise, you have to use simple syrup or just plain sugar. This is delicious. You could always use red wine instead but I like the white during the summer.
