Biking on the shore
It was a beautiful day in Santa Barbara yesterday. We got up and drove our bikes down to the pier. It was early, so there weren’t many people out which made it even nicer. The smell of flowers and the beach are intoxicating.
Fred and Josh hightailed it back for a golf game and me and the girls hung out. We locked up our bikes and walked up and down State Street attempting to get something for my nieces birthday. Then we walked it back to the end of the pier for lunch. We ate at the Santa Barbara Shellfish Company. We opted for mostly the shrimp specialties. We ordered at the window and ate on the picnics overlooking the water. Boiled shrimp, shrimp ceviche and shrimp cocktail. All good and simple. After leaving, we stopped by the local candy shop. Lots of
salt water taffy flavors, reminds me of Ocean City, MD where we used to go on occasion as a kid. The girls has raspberry truffles which were almost the size of a small fist which they loved. We also got a bag of chocolate covered gummy bears. One of the all time treats, in my opinion. Then drove on our bikes back to the hotel.
All and all, a really nice relaxing day.
