Photography and more..

Living in the city has a million benefits but certainly being able to catch an hour at the MOMA to see art is a huge bonus.  I met a friend yesterday for a walk-through and lunch.

Yesterday the MOMA was empty.  Not sure why but it was.  We walked through 3 exhibits.  The first is New Photography 2009 highlighting what is happening in photography today.  Really wonderful and I'd like to go back and look again.  The exhibit runs though mid-January.

The other exhibit is Monet's waterlilies.  I strolled through but seeing the large expansive paintings at the Museum L'Orangerie in Paris is still so fresh in my mind that I am not sure will ever appreciate those pieces like I do in Paris anywhere else again.

On the top floor of the MOMA there is always a huge exhibit.  Currently is an exhibit of the designer Ron Arad.  The exhibit is in collaboration with the Pompidou in Paris (one of my favorite museums in the world). This particular exhibit is very modern as he crosses into technology with design.  Honestly, didn't rock my world but appreciate it.

Still one of the best parts of the MOMA is the cafe which is part of the Danny Meyer empire.  You can always count on a delicious lunch and a good cup of coffee after taking in the art.
