Cortona
Our activity on Friday was a trip to Cortona.
We parked on the hill and walked through the park over to town.
First stop was an amazing butcher. The meats were so red.
The stores were similar to the other towns except there were a few antique shops. This piece was very cool. A place to sit and do your make up and then presto it becomes a cylinder piece of furniture.
We walked down to the square and did happen to see a few locals.
Grabbed a mid-morning gelato where one board was all white board and everyone signed in. This particular day was a huge score for Josh when it came to Foursquare. He made sure he signed in at every stop.
Of course, had to walk over to the church. The stained glass window brought a glow into the church from above.
The views from there were amazing. Check out the cemetery below.
There are a few museums there with some important pieces. I am not a lover of the old oil paintings but thought the ceiling in the basement of the museum was quite beautiful.
We found a place for lunch. Melon and prosciutto.
After lunch we strolled back to the car where I found a jeweler and bought myself a ring. Local family of jewelers, third generation.
One more peek at the views before heading back to the villa for a little pool action.
