the decadent chocolate chip oreo cookie
Josh found these cookies on Tumblr and I reblogged it. I decided to make them on Sunday night. They are beyond decadent. Watching Josh eat the cookie was the best part. He was seriously in heaven and mumbling while chewing about how this was the most amazing thing he had ever eaten. Pretty hilarious.
I used my chocolate chip cookie recipe. A few things learned from the experience. My recipe uses too many chocolate chips and I could have done fine with about 25% less. Also, I wrapped the oreo and I think all you need to do is put dough on top and the bottom and the top will melt over the oreo to close the gap. Otherwise, they are so huge and probably an entire days worth of caloric intake needed but who is counting.
My chocolate chip recipe (do less chips for the oreo concoction)
2 sticks unsalted butter at room temperature
1 cup light brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
1 egg at room temperature
1 egg yolk at room temperature
Sifted together: 2 1/4 cups flour, 1 tsp. baking soda, 1 tsp. kosher salt.
11 ounce bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips
11 ounce bag of milk chocolate chips
Beat the butter for a few minutes, add in the sugars and beat for a few more minutes. Add in the vanilla, beat. Add in the eggs, beat. Add in the flour a few separate times and beat in between until fully incorporated. Add in the chips and beat a few times just to mix them in.
Bake at 350 until golden brown. About 10 minutes.

My crack. Look delicious. Hope you’re well!
Crack is the perfect description
wow, those look intense! I’m pretty sure having a batch of these around the house would be a bad idea, but I’m oh so curious 🙂
They did not last long
You’re a cruel woman, Gotham Gal. Cruel.

I made the oreo version — and then tried a new twist. Peanut butter chocolate chip cookies with reeses peanut butter cups inside! I highly recommend!
