Montauk Farmers Market

Farmersmkt
I love a good farmers market.  When we travel I always try to hit up the farmers market.  Hard to take the fresh products home but it connects you to what is happening in the food community.  There are a bunch of farmers markets on the east end.  I really like the one in Montauk on Thursdays.  It has grown from a few stands to quite a large group.

Walking through the farmers market in Union Square is probably the biggest thing I miss about having an office down in that area these days…also haven’t been out to Montauk in a long while (since moving from Long Island to NJ a few years back)…these pictures make me really miss that too 😉

We love local farmer’s markets as well. However, when you can’t make it to one you can rely deliciouskarma.com. We just got a nice write-up on TechCrunch today http://techcrunch.com/2012/…We also have the most awesome salmon and this is coming from a guy that grew up in Seattle catching and eating fresh salmon. http://deliciouskarma.com/a

Visting farmers’ markets in other cities is the best way to “get local.” We recommend markets in every destination we cover!! Your photos are lovely!

Going to the grocery store feels really glum after getting hooked on farmers markets. We do have a couple of grocers who are directly associated with their own farms here (Jersey shore), so at least there’s that.
