Womens Entrepreneur Festival Opening remarks and thoughts
Yesterday was the full day of the Womens Entrepreneur Festival. It is a magical event. Filling a room with 300 smart, driven, entrepreneurial women from all walks of lives creates amazing conversations and an energy that should be captured.
The theme of this conference was being BOLD. Here are my opening remarks from the morning. If you have the time it is worth listening to the panels as the participants have some great advice and insight into building businesses, raising money, traction and scale and launching. Each speech that was given I found inspiring.
What truly inspired me more than anything else were the attendees. They were soaking in information, networking and just enjoying themselves. You can’t ask for more than that. This is a video of most of the attendees going through a speed networking event. It was just jaw-dropping.

as I remarked on your husband’s blog, sounds like my family room, or a family gathering. (My family is virtually all women…..on both sides)
Inspiring, invigorating – one of the most positive, supportive and useful events I’ve attended. Thanks for all the hard work that made it possible, Joanne.
The Livestream was great. It allowed me to listen in to most of the sessions. It was almost like being there.
Excellent
The speed dating video says it all. LOVED every minute of the conference. Thank you!
Joanne, this conference was so exceptionally well done. What an amazing line-up of speakers from the keynotes to the founders fielding questions on the morning panels. There was so much valuable information. I was a little wary of the high speed networking at first, but it was a fantastic way of connecting attendees with each other. Awesome. I will quit blathering, but it would be a crime to sign off without saying THANK YOU!!!
The thing I love most about listening to your opening remarks is the excitement, enthusiasm, and passion that comes across in your voice…you always have great and useful advice to share in your talks but this is the most passionate one I’ve seen you give (and therefore my new all time favorite).
Huge thanks
I haven’t seen you speak elsewhere (and I’ve only watched yesterday 5 minutes of this so far) but I was really immediately hit by the same thing. The smiling and bubbliness was great and you come across much differently than you do in your writing. You could totally do TV (as an example Shark Tank).
Now that would be interesting
“What’s between you and being bold is fear”. If I ever get a tattoo, that is what it will say (ironically I’m actually too scared to get a tattoo… but the sentiment’s there)
I absolutely positively LOVED the event! It’s a week later and I’m still trying to process the enormous scope of ideas and experiences and successes that the women I met have. It was amazing! I’ve ordered the products, checked out the websites , made the intros, set up a couple of coffee dates, etc. for just some of the extraordinary women whom I met at the festival. I was left with a curiosity about ones whom I didn’t meet–next year! Oh yes and I also walked away with a much clearer idea of how I want to continue to grow my business–and that is priceless. Thank you! It was truly a gift!
Love hearing this!
