A full day in Paris and then dinner

I pretend that I can still just go on forever and the reality is I am exhausted from a day of walking and a night of walking too!

inspiration driesWe started out the day at the Musee Les Arts Decoratifs which is one of the several museums inside the Louvre.  One the current exhibits is a retrospective of Dries Van Noten.  I’d say over the past 5 years there has been an explosion of exhibits highlighting a designers career.  I have seen many of them.  What is interesting is to just see the beauty in each of the pieces from the inspiration to the details.  This particular piece was certainly an inspiration to this capsule that was displayed.

driesdressThis was the dress that he made based on that piece.

We had an errand to run in the 9th so decided to stop by an old favorite of ours which is a chocolate shop run by a unique character.  She had bought chocolate from all over the world.  So bummed that she has closed.  Alas.

palaisroyalWe then walked back from there towards Palais Royal.  It is so beautiful there.  Did a little shopping and walked back to the hotel for dinner.

All and all an exhausting but fun day.

Love it here. Essential to come at least once a year!

If you still have time left, let me recommend the following 2 places a must if you’ve not yet visited. Le Chalet des iles – located in the heart of le bois de boulogne – http://chalet-des-iles.com/en then the second is Artsy neobistro called ‘Roseval’ | 20th arrondissement – http://www.roseval.fr/. Both worth a visit! You’ll be glad to hear as well that Paris is finally taken to the whole “start-up business culture” so it is the buzz word. …20 years after the rest of the world but sooo parisienne. 🙂
