I love this video. It is one of the many reasons I invested in Hey Gorgeous. I was a buyer in this business. I get it and it is amazing to me that there aren’t enough options out there for this woman. She deserves more and Hey Gorgeous is doing just that.
I never fully understood the importance of this culturally and the impact of changing the definition of beauty till a few weeks ago when I walked past with Lianna one of the building size billboards. She set me straight.I do now. It’s a big deal.
it is a big deal..
It is one of those rare instances btw where what is culturally right is also a massive audience that will be so clear on how to brand and market to.
Glad we were able to make you a believer!
Be cognizant of the positioning. You want to make this inclusive cross genders. You don’t win if you only sell to the market. You win if you capture a core cultural change. That’s the home run.
And we love them as customers as well 🙂
Thank you Joanne for sharing our Yahoo! News segment.
This is great! My first job out of college was as manager for the Macy Woman (larger sizes) department at Macy*s so I’ve never understood why most retailers leave money on the table by not serving this demographic.
I was placed at the Tyson’s Corner, VA store after completing the Exec. Training Program. I really wanted Herald Square, though 🙂 got my chance as an asst buyer in the same dept a year later!
nice. i ran 1/3 of the store in New Rochelle and then became a Large Size buyer.Herald Sq would have been terrible. All union!
so true. I remember the hassle well but such a great experience right out of school! Happy New Year! Looking forward to being a part of the Gotham Gal and WE Festival community more this year.
