We saw “Joy” yesterday. Curious what you thought of it (it was worth watching but I wasn’t super happy with it..)
Didn’t like it at all. Was actually angry when I left the theater. Supposedly The director did not follow the story. I loathed every character particularly DeNiro.
The final scene was a bit of a takeoff on one of the godfathers (or maybe several of them combined). Dark room with lot’s of wood. Your close advisers nearby. Only some people get in to see you and pay their respects (and ask for “favors”).Also noting how she essentially was presented as placing her best friend (the one who called in to QVC with the question that got her talking) in a subservient position and how in the end Joy did what was in her own best interest “the bullet” so to speak.
Horrid movie.
