WeFestival Soundbites on 33 Voices

First and foremost, WeFestival is accepting applications through the end of January.  Apply!

We partnered with Jenna Abdou at 33 Voices to profile female entrepreneurs through a series of short interviews.  They are all really worth listening to.  We gave them a handful of questions to choose from.  My favorite is “when did you realize you were an entrepreneur”?  The one I did above is around knowing your role.

The other thing we are doing is building our Slack channel. It gives us an opportunity to support our mission at WeFestival which is to help women build their businesses.  This Tuesday we begin an endless series of a “Slack-Off” hour where you can put your feet up, grab your laptop and ask me anything related to early stage investing, raising money etc.  You must be signed into to participate.  Other topics coming down the pike are branding, HR, insurance, accelerators and more with experts from all verticals.

The last 5 years of WeFestival was about putting on an event to empower women.  I learned a lot and met a slew of incredible women.  It was time to build something bigger and more powerful.  I really wanted to build more than just a once-a-year event.  I wanted to build something that connected a community of women in the trenches together over the entire year.

We are creating a movement.  A place for women entrepreneurs to connect and be heard.  I want to build something unique and I do it because I want to pay it forward.  WeFestival gives women the tools, the confidence and a community to build their businesses.

WeFestival is April 13/14th in NYC and there will be more to come in other cities over the next year.  We have incredible partners who believe in what we are doing from American Express, Verizon Ventures, She Knows Media, GE, Deloitte, Accenture, Google, LinkedIn, Techstars, WeWork, SalesForce, JustWorks and SVB.

I am so excited about WeFestival this year.  We are building a business just like the women attending the festival.  Together we are all on the same journey and that is exactly what makes this event so incredible.

As you grow keep that in mind as the key design element as that seems to be the center of this from the outside.

Wow, lots of good stuff in this series https://www.33voices.com/we…So 33 Voices produces the videos and organizes them on their website? It looked like a series of mini-TED videos, which is powerful, but what’s beyond that?

We will continue them. It’s about sharing experiences and learning from each other.

I meant that 33 Voices has great content and potential, outside of their website.
