Last day in LA in 2016

Always good to see what is happening down in the art district.  Hauser Wirth & Schimmel has become the anchor of the area the minute they opened their doors.  Their new restaurant Manuela has opened that sits inside the multiple spaces there.

There were a handful of exhibits.  One which you can not take photos of Schwitters, Miro and Arp.  The other of Maria Lassnig.

This is their permanent installations inside the garden.

And the other of Isa Genzken called I Love Michael Asner.  This was an incredible exhibit.  She is one of Germany’s most influential modern artists.  I am always a fan of the mannequins.

The collages are her signature.

Saw this on the sidewalk when we walked outside.

Made our way over to the MOCA Geffen museum.  An incredible Doug Aiken installation.  It takes time to take in all the videos so your ticket is actually good for a few weeks.  Really like that concept.  Each room had different installations.  One had mounds of dirt around with a dripping water hole in the middle.

The large round video in the middle of the room was about connecting with people and love.

These different mirrored sculptures were about.

After we decided to go over to Koreatown and get a burger at Cassells.

Dinner was a return to Jon and Vinnys.  The food there is simple and so good.  This little gem salad is their version of a Caesar.  Delicious with toasted bread crumbs on top.

Their spicy vodka is a signature.

All the pizzas are a must try too.  We went with the pepperoni.

Leaving to hit the slopes tomorrow, hang out with the family and enjoy a holiday week.
