Dreamers

People should be judged by their moral compass.  It says something about the person.

There are over 800,000 children in this country who were brought here by their parents.  They don’t know anything else but being who they are, an American.  Our Government, for purely political purposes, have been incapable of passing a law to keep them all here, where they belong.  Most of them are positive pieces of our society.  To send them all back to places that they have never seen, where they weren’t raised, because their parents brought them here and they know nothing else is morally reprehensible.

How our country got to a place where we have lost our moral compass is beyond me.  I would hope our Congress would do the right thing and keep all of these “dreamers” who are having nightmares about their status as a United States citizen in our country and make them legal citizens.  That they would spend some time reading the data around these people and their positive impact on this country instead of espousing their disregard for these people.  It just shows their lack of a moral compass to us and the rest of the world that the people behind this desire to deport all of them are bigots, pure and simple.

As an eternal optimist, I would hope that if Congress can’t figure out how to keep all of these “dreamers” in our country, I am positive that they will all find themselves on the wrong side of history and I also fear what our future will look like without the dreamers.

We need to rebuild a culture around the idea that our actions reflect how we *see ourselves* not how we want *others to be seen*.

That applies to everything. I like that.

Why not eliminate ICE completely and allow anyone to walk in? All we need is higher taxes, right? The only requirement for Citizenship would be pledging to vote for the Democratic party!
