The Times They Are A Changin’
The rumbling of women is at full roar. I am can’t pinpoint when the tsunami began because it has been more of a snowball gathering up steam and size rolling down the hill.
#MeToo and #Timesup is part of the ripple effect but it wasn’t the start. Women in their 20’s and 30’s were raised by women with a mantra that you be anything you want to be. They grew up believing that they were equal if not better than their male counterparts. As these women entered the workforce they have made friends, family and balance part of their lives. That attitude has made others, particularly older women who have continued to climb up the ladder against the tide, to put their elbows back up and say “YES” what a breath of fresh air.
Seeing strong powerful women running for offices and winning will change the conversations about family and work life. Women sitting on public boards, women starting and building companies, women starting movements and women in every industry at the highest level is happening and changing every single day. There is no turning back. It is about time. And it is happening globally.
We have all heard the saying, one day women will rule the world. It doesn’t sound so cavalier anymore. The next decade is where the snowball gets so big that it just smashes everything around it and we will all be forced to create new foundations of equality.
The times they are definitely a changin’

The entire discussion here is grounded in the reality that there will be a switch from minority to majority rule, to where diversity will be the metric fo representation cross everything from business to investment to government. That will happen because it is both immensely powerful and the right thing. It also corners the Republicans and the racists eventually and will get ugly and horrid in the process.Bring it on I say!
Data shows right now that the majority of 18 year olds are not white. You can’t change that
Correct. That is a force in itself.
The next time I’m feeling uncertain about something I’m going to picture the girl-power snowball smashing whatever is in my path!
i like it!
