A Call to the Innovators

Will coronavirus be the turning point in changing our world to a better place?

Let’s be honest, we are all a bit freaked out over the coronavirus even though you want to just lead your lives but be smart. It is another dose of the last three years. It is the icing on the cake of a Government that has taken a huge syringe and shot it into the public to give us an underlying feeling of angst and fear and uncertainty. It blows.

So how do we change this? Where are our innovators who can take what is happening with this virus and how it is shifting our lives and create a world where we can be a little more equal? Could this be the one generation that is given an opportunity, to be honest about our history when it comes to the Indians and the African Americans? Can we create a new social world and true equality for women?

Where the fuck is the leadership in all this? Let’s become leaders and go around this heavy blanket that sits over all our heads and build things that can take us in a new direction. This is what the tech sector should be doing. I always believed that technology would equalize all of us. Based on this coronavirus that was obviously coming here and nobody was even preparing for it is just mind-blowing. This virus is changing how we look at the world. We need massive change. It is time.

Why are so many of America’s most successful people so unhappy?Fixing grievances from the past traps you in the past & an endless cycle of score keeping.Creating new systems of equal opportunity is productive & assisting as many people as possible to find their purpose in that system is super productive.Identity based whining about every bad thing that happens is middle school.

I think the answer for all things is leadership, new leadership as needed as well as from that it will encourage innovation from the bottom up.I appreciate you raising these items as i see it as isolating pockets of action, not at all kvetching.thanks!

.”. . . . not at all kvetching.”Haha, it is the most predictable #BlameTrump left wing nonsense as always. When the Trump stamps out the Wutang Flu in less than three months, you’ll be leading the huzzahs, right?JLMwww.themusingsofthebigredca…

It boggles me that with all the science and tech we have, that we still can’t find a vaccine or a cure for the corona virus.Imagine if computer vulnerabilities were at risk each time a new tech virus came along. We seem to have figured out how to see the patterns of a tech virus and computers are mostly safe, because of that, despite being connected like never before.I want a vaccine that immunes my body to anything bad.- dream-wishing of course. but why not?

.The corona virus — corona being a class of viruses — will have a vaccine. Inovio Pharmaceuticals had a digital model of a vaccine within 3 hours of receiving the sequenced genome. Three freakin’ hours. Now, we will have the CDC review and approve it — along with more than 50+ other vaccines proposed — and then we will have animal trials, small scale human trials, large scale human trials, a vaccine, manufacturing, and distribution. This isn’t a head fake — the solution. It is real. It is science. It is being brought to us by our government in the form of the CDC. Rejoice. Our government made the big, bold move — they cut off travel from China, thereby buying us 3-4 weeks to get our act in order. Who did that?Donald J Trump, President of the United States — for which he received political scorn from the Dems who accused him of immigration treachery.BTW, we don’t have a vaccine for the common cold, another corona virus family member.Wash your damn hands.JLMwww.themusingsofthebigredca…

Trump has actually done a decent job here. Shut down travel to China early in the game for example. We got the DNA sequence from China early on and they are going to have a vaccine as soon as they are able. For sure, the media seized on the story and politicized it. What isn’t political these days? If I tie my shoes funny it’s political and if I don’t use laces it’s political.H1N1 was a scarier and more deadly disease. If you haven’t gotten a flu shot, get one. It won’t stop corona, but it will stop the flu opening up hospital space for corona victims.Yup, coronavirus is scary but it’s not Spanish Flu. We aren’t a communist country, so we can’t do what China has done. Cases in China (if you believe the data) have peaked. Schools closing, parades ending, conventions being cancelled all will be a short term hurt on the restaurant/travel industry. If the US collectively held its breath for around two-three weeks, it would be over. The good news is there is a lot of information. Soap and drinking a lot of water is a good antidote. Limiting contact with people for the short run is not a bad idea. Of course, they cancelled classes at the University of Dayton so everyone went out and partied….

.”Where the fuck is the leadership in all this?”It is at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue in the person of Donald J Trump who had the gut hunch to halt all travel from China when he first was briefed. Nobody even suggested that to him. He was criticized initially by medical pros. He was castigated by the Dems.It. Was. A. Stroke. Of. Fucking. Genius. The medical pros say it bought us 3-4 weeks. Now, we have a task force led by the second most powerful man in the US, staffed by experts — the best America has — and we have the Center For Disease Control, the world’s best epidemiologists. We are the envy of the world. We get daily briefings. We get daily press conferences. We have a website that allows to see what every medical pro in the US is being told to do and the actual numbers on the disease. The 2009 H1N1 Swine Flu ended with 12,500 deaths, 60MM infections, and 265,000 hospital visits. We are at 1,015 infected and 31 deaths.Yeah, “Where the fuck is the leadership in all this?” Right under your fucking nose. Take a look.Prediction: This baby ends up in the bookcase right next to the Net Neutrality baloney that had the world ending, the Internet becoming a fiasco. We’ll be fine.JLMwww.themusingsofthebigredca…

Freaked out? Do you know anyone who knows anyone who knows anyone….. who has this virus? Reminds me of Kevin Bacon’s six degrees of separation, but squared. The media hysteria about this is absurd, but attention seeking absurdity is par for the course for media. Fuck the media.
