Memorial Day

Today is a day to remember the soldiers who have fought for our freedom. The ones who gave their lives no matter what state they came from to be part of the armed forces so our lives as we know it can continue.

I am going to spend today thinking about the 100,000 people who we have lost as a nation over the past several months to Covid-19. I am going to think about the Pledge of Allegiance that notes we are one nation, indivisible.

I hope today that we can all think about being respectful to each other as a nation regardless of each other’s political beliefs. That we can stand together with empathy and understanding instead of division with anger and hate.

Wear a mask, be socially distant, respect what is happening and people’s fears, and show unity. Our fallen soldiers deserve that from all of us.
