Voting Plan B

We all are aware of what is not going on at the Post Office. The absurd lines with one person behind the counter should have been the first red flag. I tried to order stamps the other day. The frustration with the site is beyond. I ended up launching the “chat” feature and here is our conversation.

( 4m 12s ) Latoya: Hi, my name is Latoya. Thank you for using USPS.com, what can I help you with today?
( 4m 43s ) joanne wilson: I can not buy stamps. The address is correct but the site says it is invalid or incomplete.
( 6m 17s ) Latoya: We’re aware of the issue and working on a resolution. Unfortunately, we do not have an estimated time of repair. To purchase stamps or shipping supplies, you may contact Shipping Supplies at 1-800-610-8734 or visit a local Post Office. I apologize for the inconvenience.
( 6m 40s ) joanne wilson: Ok.
( 7m 21s ) Latoya: Is there anything else I can assist you with?
( 7m 28s ) joanne wilson: nope. thanks
( 7m 47s ) Latoya: Thank you for visiting USPS.com, we appreciate your business and hope you come back soon.

The USPS is an essential organization particularly when it comes to rural areas where people get their mail and their medications. The amount of junk mail needs to cease because the cost is high but that is for another time. When it comes to voting there needs to be a Plan B immediately.

Where is Fedex and USPS in getting the ballots to the right location? Why can’t they be part of the delivery process? It does not have to be an overnight delivery but perhaps drop-off locations through out the country where they are locked up and picked up by either delivery company, sorted and taken to the right location to enter the ballots.

This is about a public/private partnership. FedEx and UPS has no problem getting something delivered overnight. Why aren’t we asking them to help with our ballots? We have no idea about the destruction that has been done inside the post office. Destruction can happen quickly, getting back to where it was before happens slowly. It certainly needs to be fixed but the election is around the corner.

Change always comes from outside. Can Fedex and UPS rise to this occasion?
