High Holidays

I am that Jew that goes once a year to the high holiday services. I am ok with it. We always acknowledge the holidays as a family with, of course, a meal. For Yom Kippur, some fast, others don’t. But we do have the annual dairy meal of bagels, kugel, lox and the spread for dinner.

This year feels so weird. We are supposed to go to temple, ask for forgiveness for our sins, atone and pray for a better year. It is a somber holiday.

As we crawl along into October and soon November (which could be a shit show) and then December, although getting to 2021 is not in line with the Jewish calendar, I am definitely hoping for a better year.
