Zeo Leonard’s 20th Anniversary

Zoe Leonard penned this piece in 1992. It wasn’t meant to be a piece of art but a plea for a President with certain experiences such as Eileen Myles, who was a write-in candidate in 1992. This piece is perhaps even more relevant today as our politicians become older and out of touch.

There was renewed interest in this piece when Trump ran, and the High Line displayed the work in 2016.

A worthy powerful wish still has not been granted twenty years later.
