Tokyo, the first full day

We felt a bit like the rope drop when we go skiing after a whole night of snow. The rope drops, and off we go. How much can we take in while on the other side of the globe?

We opted for breakfast at the hotel. Fred really dug the Japanese breakfast, and he ate it almost every day.

It was my birthday, so we spent the day shopping, walking, and eating. Our first stop was the Aoyama neighborhood. We started at Commes Des Garcons. Everyone who works there, and many of the customers dress so chic. That also bleeds onto the streets of Tokyo where nobody is wearing workout clothes but a personalized outfit. I could sit on the corner and just take it all in.

The dog in the stroller is abundant as well. After watching a dog take a dump at a salon when I got back, as much as I love dogs and have had them almost my entire life, I am having a hard time wrapping my arms around the whole thing.

We popped into the Sacai flagship store in a brutalist concrete maze of small rooms housing the clothing.

Here is the list of things of items on our list for the day to check out, that gives you a bit of insight into our trip. SOLAKZADE– jewelry store INC cocktails– vinyl cocktail bar A Happy Pancake Omotesando, A Happy Pancake Shibuya– this is the one on Joanne’s list, Tomigaya– neighborhood in Shibuya, Fuglen Tokyo– coffee shop, sacai Aoyama, Tokyu Plaza Harajuku (Harakado)– shopping mall, Chatei Hatou– coffee shop, Higuma Doughnuts × Coffee Wrights Omotesando– coffee and donuts, KIKO KOSTADINOV TOKYO– concept shop, COMME des GARÇONS Aoyama Store, Omote-Sando Station– start of omotesando avenue,TOGA XTC Harajuku– clothing store,Found MUJI 青山, ARTS&SCIENCE Aoyama, HUM SENDAGAYA men’s atelier&shop, the Divot STORE– golf shop,BEAMS, Ramen Hayashi– ramen, Kugatsudo– ramen, Usagi– ramen, Menya Nukaji– ramen, Menhan Shokudo Nakajima– chinese style ramen. We did not get to all of these but we definitely did a fair amount. Once I made the document, I really let Fred by the tour guide.

We also made our way into Shibuya and had lunch at a ramen shop.

I loved the dog walker, 23 dogs!

Unfortunately, dinner wasn’t great, and that was on me. I should have noticed a few details, like paying attention to the dinner resys, but lessons learned, as we finally had an incredible sushi meal later in the week.

Back to the hotel to gear up for another day.
