Can I Talk To Someone?

I love technology, but like everything, we tend to go too far one way and then find we need to get somewhere back in the center.

This past week, I was hacked. I knew it immediately and quickly changed my Google password. The slew of emails from people I have amassed in my contacts letting me know was incredible and thoughtful. Then, it was a deep dive, as always, to fix it and figure out how it happened. The biggest frustration is finding a human to talk to is almost impossible.

Gotham’s Instagram is shut down randomly. Lucky for us, I have a few people we can reach out to, but if you do not, it is unbearably painful and could take a long time to get back up and running.

We use a variety of software systems to run Gotham and other companies, and the frustration of not being able to speak to someone when shit goes bad is infuriating. As an investor, or a business person, I get it, the tech bots cost a lot less money than a human being but on a scale of 1-10, they tilt towards the low end. Nothing is more irritating than calling a company that asks you a million questions through a bot and then when a person comes on, they repeat the exact same questions.

Our lives are run on many platforms, such as Google, Apple, Meta, and more, but once you find yourself lost in the void, there isn’t a human to help you out. For many of us who aren’t that tech savvy and even those that are, allowing these companies to have such power over our ability to function becomes intolerable when you can’t even talk to a human.

Something has to got change.
