Pee Wee Herman

I love movies, particularly excellent documentaries. It is not easy to keep a viewer enthralled with a documentary. The content is key, but how the story is woven together is what inspires the viewer.

I met Matt Wolf because, through Gotham, he is best buds with Berks who oversees all of our merchandising. Of course, after meeting Matt, I watched The Marion Stokes Projects. I loved it and it stuck with me for a long time.

I knew about the Pee-wee Herman documentary he is working on and could hardly wait to watch it. While we were in Paris, we watched both parts, as it’s a two-part series. I loved Pee Wee, who didn’t? Matt has created a film that reveals the man behind Pee Wee—an incredible portrayal of his life, career, and secrets.

After we finished Pee Wee, we moved on to Matt’s first documentary, Wild Combination: A Portrait of Arthur Russell. Arthur Russell was a brilliant musician, way ahead of his time, who died too early from AIDS. We loved seeing Matt’s first documentary because, through that film, which is incredibly well done, it’s not surprising how Matt has gone on to make many films that are all worth watching.

I plan on seeing more in the months ahead. If you have not seen Pee Wee, do yourself a favor and watch it. We loved this film.
