Women Defined 2018

Maker’s Women posted this video and watching it made me smile and brought tears to my eyes. There is no doubt that as politically insane as 2018 has been, it has been a defining year for women.

Women are expecting a seat at the table as they should. Women are feeling empowered because their peers are supporting them. My generation of women did not necessarily support each other because there were few seats at the table and competition was tough. We did not support each other’s choices from one woman becoming a full-time mother to one woman working part-time to one woman focusing on her career. That is changing.

Women are starting to support each other’s choice. Decades of women going to college, being told that they can do anything that they want is finally paying off. We are becoming ourselves and that is the best thing that could possibly happen. The impact will be made everywhere we turn. Either we have given ourselves permission to embrace who are or it finally feels comfortable. I do remember the years when women wore those ridiculous ties to look like their male counterparts.

Seeing women rule the world is something I have been passionate about my entire life and I do believe it is finally happening. Perhaps not as quickly as I would like but change is in the air and 2018 is defining this movement.

I’m a believer. In fact I think the only answer for positive change is diversity honestly.I look at the new era of people entering politics especially and see a positive view of a new order.Have a great holiday season!

Great share. I hadn’t seen this.Little Miss Flint is a model for us all. I can’t wait to see what she gets up to as she grows up. As I’ve been saying since 2012, the future is in good hands 🙂
