Woody Creek Tavern

Woody
We have come out to Aspen more than a handful of times over the years.  I have a love-hate relationship with Aspen.  Getting here is a major pain in the ass.  My flight was cancelled into Aspen from Denver and took a car service up here.  I was coming from Utah that day.  Fred and the gang took a flight from hell into Eagle where people where people were hanging on for dear life and puking was abundant.  But we all managed to make it here.

I prefer the Highlands to Ajax although I don't love Snowmass because of the area I always end up in.  I think if I started on the other side of the mountain I would like it more.  BIg huge open fields that remind me of Europe.

Fred
The restaurants are all a little too too.  Many of them have locations other places.  Aspen is not a down and dirty kind of place. Fred's getting our drinks and chips while we wait in the pool room.

Our friend owns a place out here that he refers to as the ghetto ranch.  It is down the street from Woody Creek Tavern.  I have wanted to eat there for years.  Last night as we drove up Josh said, "wow, this place is ghetto".  Perhaps the name ghetto ranch makes sense.

Menu
Woody Creek Tavern is a goldmine.  Packed to the gills, cash only with good food, good drinks and a great down and dirty vibe.  Even the menus are kitschy.  Also you need a car to get there.

Gang
We had a great time last night.  The kids completely enjoyed the experience.

I’ve never not had to drive into Aspen either. Last time I hired a guy who looked like Cheech who I think was stoned to the max to drive us through the storm. Have fun. Be careful!

      He probably was stoned.
